Gamma Curves

Surgical control over gamma curves within DaVinci Resolve. Adjust toe, shoulder, and midpoint independently with sub-stop accuracy — every move expressed in linear-light stops, readable and reproducible.

  • Six DCTLs — three-point through seven-point control
  • DaVinci Wide Gamut and ACEScct, matched automatically
  • Built-in real-time curve overlay for every variant

The collection

6 DCTLs.

Surgical control over gamma curves within DaVinci Resolve. Adjust toe, shoulder, and midpoint independently with sub-stop accuracy — every move expressed in linear-light stops, readable and reproducible.

GC01

Three Point

3 control points, free-drag gamma. Black & white fixed. Fast, intuitive shaping.

GC02

Three Point Precise

Gamma via dropdown, exactly 0.25-stop steps. Match grades across clips.

GC03

Three Point Variable

Adds ±20% X-position control per point. Move pivots off the standard 25 / 50 / 75.

GC04

Three Point Variable Precise

Gamma and position both gridded — 0.25 stops / 5% steps.

GC05

Seven Point Variable

7 points every 12.5%, gamma + ±10% position sliders. Detailed sculpting.

GC06

Seven Point Variable Precise

Seven points, all parameters gridded — 0.25 stops / 2.5% steps. The primary look tool.

What makes it different

Built for precision.

01

Middle gray at 50% — always

The curve is normalised so middle gray sits at exactly the 50% position, regardless of log space. Adjustments land where your eye expects them.

02

Stop-based adjustments

Every gamma slider is calibrated in linear-light stops — the unit colourists already think in. ±4 stops of range, 0.25-stop precision in Precise variants.

03

True gamma, not luma

Adjustments apply equally across R, G, and B. A true gamma shift preserves the relationship between channels — no luma-extraction artefacts.

04

Monotone spline interpolation

Fritsch–Carlson monotone cubic Hermite interpolation passes exactly through every control point and is guaranteed never to invert. No accidental tonal reversals.
